The Ignite Fellowship is open to applicants who meet the criteria for our Live Literature database. You do not need to be on the database to apply. 

What to include on your completed application form (below):

  • Your personal details.
  • A statement of your relevant experience and publication history. 
  • A completed ‘About your project’ section.
  • A sample of your writing. Your writing sample can be from a previously published piece of work, a work in progress, or a combination of both. This can include short stories, poems or an extract from a longer piece of work. (Length limit: 3,500 words, 10 pages of poetry, 15 pages of script.) 
  • If your sample is an extract from a longer piece of work, please include a synopsis. Those submitting poetry or a script should include a brief commentary about their project. (Word limit: 500 words.)

Submitting your application:

  • We strongly suggest writing out your answers on a separate document to save and redraft as needed. 
  • Please do not include hyperlinks or links to websites in your application.
  • Take note, you won’t be able to apply formatting to your application including bold, italics and underlining text.   

Please note: Gaelic applicants should use our Gaelic application form. Gaelic applications will open on Monday 1st October.

Na dh’fheumas tu a chur san fhoirm tagraidh agad (gu h-ìosal):

  • D’ fhiosrachadh pearsanta.
  • Aithris air d’ eòlas iomchaidh agus d’ eachdraidh foillseachaidh.
  • Earrann air a lìonadh airson ‘Mu dheidhinn do phròiseact’.
  • Earrann den sgrìobhadh agad. Faodaidh an earrann sgrìobhaidh agad a bhith mar phìos obrach a chaidh fhoillseachadh roimhe, pìos air a bheil thu ag obair, no cothlamadh de na dhà. Faodaidh seo a bhith a’ gabhail a-steach sgeulachdan goirid, dàin no às-earrann bho phìos obrach nas fhaide. (Suas gu: 3,500 facal, 10 duilleagan de bhàrdachd, 15 duilleagan de sgriobt.)  
  • Ma tha an earrann agad mar às-earrann bho phìos obrach nas fhaide, feuch gun cuir thu geàrr-iomradh leis. Bu chòir dhaibhsan a tha a’ cur a-steach bàrdachd no sgriobt, iomradh goirid mun phròiseact aca a chur còmhla ris. (Suas gu: 500 facal)

Cur a-steach an tagraidh agad:  

  • Tha  sinn a’ moladh dhut gu làidir do fhreagairtean a chur ann an ‘document’ air leth, gus a bhith comasach air an  sàbhaladh agus an ath-dhreachadh ma bhios feum air.
  • Feuch nach cuir thu ceanglaichean-lìn no ceanglaichean gu làraich-lìn an lùib do thagraidh.
